I finally installed the iron GT40 style, not the p heads, on my 302s and it was a night and day difference. They have the Ford larger valves, etc. Took the car from mid 9 sec eighth miles to high 7 secs at 2900 lbs. The 289 hipo engine should have a special large damper/balancer and should go to 6500. Both of my 302s will go to 6000 easily.
